As some of you know we have been talking about doing something different this year with the Kingman Street Drags. I think it will be cool to split up the import class into classes the are more fun. To make things more challenging and to see who is the fastest in this area in thier group. We take cars that we know can run with each other and put them in a class. Each class racer will put in $20.00 that will go into that class. All the money in each class is the payout for that class. The racers in each class determine who races in that class. To make things more challenging we take your reaction time and add it to your ET.
What do you think??

Sounds like fun to me. not for sure, but according to the pre registration thay are not going to have a import class. Not a big deal for what we want to do, but I look forward to spaking some unsespecting domestics. I'm down for a class that runs in the 12vs in the 1/4. The domestics dont take us very seriousley, so lets get together and show them that we are orginized and worth keeping in the show.

Hey guys, retorq from kingmanstreetdrags.com here ... I'm not sure what you guys are looking to do but there IS a sport compact class. Rules/guidelines for all the classes are here:

There was a 280SX that ran in KSD3, would have whooped up on the sport compact class but he choose to run in another class, Hot Rod I think ... did pretty well. Was he with you guys??

That might have been Mr. SNP himself Gabe Salazar that ran in that class.

What I'm trying to do is make the import class a little more challenging and fun. The import class is simply a class for ALL imports with DOT tires (no slicks). The street racers can launch on the street but the track is usualy too slick, and the track racers can launch on the track but not on the street very well. In the Kingman street drags nobody launches that well. Then theres the fwd guys who can contend well but usualy need slicks to compete, and theres the rwd guys who can conted well but cant lauch as well as the awd guys. I have what used to be the white 240sx you speak of and had to be placed in the Pro Street class just because I had slicks. I've Drag raced this car for over 4yrs, the last 2 on slicks so the car is set up for slicks not dot tires and for guys like me and the fwd guys, we need slicks to compete with the awd guys but in this IMPORT class that basicly says ALL imports are all the same, the 14.20et awd guys beat most 12.40et cars. Last year the race got rained out so there was no payout and one of my guys would have won that import class. So why should my 11.61 car have to strugle with a 14.30 car just to run in the imoprt class with dot tires. So what I'm trying to do is group All SPORT COMPACTS into groups that are more competitive and fair. We all have an idea about how fast and who we can run with. I have tied to get everyone from Blythe to BullHead and Kingman involved and everyone is interested but no one has comittted and doesn't look like anyone will. As usual
So I tried
Whatever

I agree, I support whatever you think is best. After all you do have more experience than most of us. I am just going to have fun and run what I brung.... But, if we do run classes I promise to be competitive! ;)
